LPC Supervisor
I Specialize in EMDR, Internal Family Systems, and CBT through a Trauma-informed & Feminist Lens
With over 19 years of experience as a licensed professional counselor and over 11 years as LPC-supervisor, I am passionate about providing ethical and effective mental health services to clients who suffer from treatment resistant depression, grief/loss, PTSD, anxiety, and who are victims of crime.
In session I may ask you to complete a depression, anxiety, mood, or PTSD assessment. I'll also take a history of physical, mental, emotional health and gently inquire about your lived experiences. We may discuss diagnoses. We work collaboratively on creating goals for therapy and what treatment modalities would best suit you.
My approach to counseling is client-centered and collaborative. I believe that you know yourself better than anyone else, and together, we can work to find the best path forward for your healing journey.
I specialize in working with trauma and have been helping people navigate their trauma since 2001. I use a variety of therapeutic approaches, including Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Motivational Interviewing, Internal Family Systems (IFS), and Trauma-Focused CBT. Each of these methods allows us to explore your unique experiences and address the underlying issues that might be affecting your mental health.
My passion for this work is deeply personal, as my own family has been touched by mental health issues and addiction. This has fueled my desire to help others who may be struggling with similar challenges, whether it’s their own mental health or that of a family member. I find great hope in the healing process, and I love being able to guide my clients toward a brighter future.
A little bit about my background.
I've been a licensed counselor for almost two decades. Additionally I am a supervisor, assisting associate counselors in developing their clinical expertise. I also am a collaborative peer colleague, and enjoy relating with other mental health professionals to ensure continued growth. At Continuity Mental Health I work with clients with depression, anxiety, trauma, grief/loss as well as childhood abuse. I offer telehealth sessions to remove barriers and increase accessibility for those who need my services.
I also have experienced working with clients who are receiving Ketamine or Spravato for treatment resistant depression, and have worked as a senior crisis center as a counselor where I saw clients who were victims of abuse and other crimes. I have worked in community-oriented clinics to serve underserved populations. I have skills in counseling, supervision, and substance abuse prevention, and I view the work through a multicultural lens.
Outside of work, I enjoy spending time at the dog park with my Toy Fox Terrier and my spouse, reading, playing board games, and staying active by running and using my rowing machine.
If you’re ready to take the next step in your healing journey, I’m here to support you. Let’s move forward together.
